As an artist working majorly with clay, sometimes blurring the lines between functional and sculptural, I have been engaged with developing multiple ideas while pushing the technology behind them as a language in itself. As a result, working simultaneously with these multiple ideas over several years I have employed a vast and diverse array of peculiar technologies and materials in my practice each pushing its own limits.
As a strategy a lot of my work remain open ended with possibilities of change, expansion and has more then one version at times. Some of these technical languages like ‘Anagama’ are very unique and has a plethora of visual delights that needs to be understood and appreciated over the period of time.
As a ceramicist I have a wider area of practice that balances my inner equilibrium.
Developing studio pottery satisfies my need for tranquility and rhythm and working on sculptural installations fulfills the desire for internal reflection and poetry.
