An Indian origin, Omani based artist, studied in Ahmedabad. Along with some short courses at Central Saint Martins, London. Curators training at Sotheby’s moved to Oman 24 years back and promoting local artists in and around the Gulf. She lives and works in Muscat, Oman. Radhika has exhibited a Tapestry show at the National Museum of Oman. Her woks are also a part of collection at the Oman’s International Airport.
Radhika is always in the quest of understanding who we are, starts when we are very little. The mystery to un-discover who we really are…? We search for our true self from people who we admire and look for their reflections in ourselves; it could be our parents, a chivalrous prince from a far off land or a teacher. Does the role-playing ever end? We are always searching for the unknown.
As we grow older we loose our true selves and our original identity. The DNA print becomes lighter and begins to fade with so many over riding characters that we inspire from, not realizing that the original identity we had is some where lost. My works are an undying effort to understand myself and not to loose the identity that I was born with. My work reflects the child within me and hopefully the child within you.
