Vyom is a sculptor from Ahmedabad. He looks at the world through a macro lens, though the individual perceptions of each work become personal and defined. Scale is very important in his work, the proportions are such that it forces the viewer to become aware of their own physicality, their own bodies, their scale, in reference to everything around.
Vyom’s current body of work draws meaning and form from the diverse folk traditions.
The folk traditions offer an extensive position in what harmonious living can be, one where the rhythms of the individual and the world they occupy are synced. An inherent understanding that I am here because of what I see around me and not the other way around.
